Abstract

Teluk (Bay) Marina is located in a vigorous area in South Lampung, Sumatera (Indonesia). Geomorphologically, Marina Bay can be described as undulating topography with horseshoe shape circle beach, and sharp escapments facing to Indian Ocean. Lots of normal faults and circle flower structures are featuring in the escarpments. Volcanic rocks of polymix of pyroclastic lag fall deposits, dacitic welded tuffs, andesite breccias, andesite lavas and some andesite dikes are identified composing its lithology. Based on the geomorphological features, lithologic composition and structural geology of Teluk Marina, a source of volcanic caldera is identified. The caldera was possibility formed during Pliocene- Pleistocene or older, then it could be interpreted as a capable volcano. Key words: Teluk Marina, volcanic rocks, ancient, and caldera
